摘要 Process for separation of metals from a mixt. passed through a magnetic field is novel in that the mixture is exposed to an electrically produced, at least two pole, magnetic field. Type electromagnetic field coils, each having approx. 300 turns, take a low current e.g. 5 amp, providing a 600 mm wide magnetic separating field, and require minimal e.g. air cooling. The mixture is advance on an endless belt (13) through a magnetic field formed between poles (15a,15b) located on the discharge lip formed at the belt return drum (14). USE/ADVANTAGE - Separation of magnetic, from non-magnetic metals, in particular mixtures. Production of increased degree of separation, e.g. by enhancement of the throw from a conveyor, etc. by use of an a.c. generated, two pole magnetic separation field.
