A system and device is provided that enhances the interactivity of multimedia information across a communications network or in combination with other networks including telecommunication and cable broadcasting. The system includes a plurality of multimedia call processing system (44), an interactive call processing system (42), and a plurality of interactive multimedia devices (52). This system has the advantage of providing compression and/or transmission algorithms to maximize enhancement of the multimedia information.
