PURPOSE:To reduce the coupling loss as compared with the case wherein a pigtail type LD is used and to reduce the size of an optical amplifier by incorporating an LC module for excitation in the tip part of an LD input port for excitation. CONSTITUTION:The optical multiplexing coupler has a polarized wave multiplexer 4 which multiplexes inputted exciting light, a filter 3 which passes only part of the exciting light with specific wavelength, a wavelength multiplexer 3 which multiplexes the exciting light passed through the filter 3 and signal light, and an isolator 1 which prevent the influence of the reflection of the multiplexed signal light and exciting light at an output part. Ports 70 and 80 internally have LD modules 14A and 14B at the tip parts. Therefore, pigtail end parts are not connected to each other and a connection part is formed in a module. Then the signal light sent from an optical transmitter is made incident on a port 5 and sent out of a port 6 to an Er-doped fiber 18. |
