A shaped book photocopying aid including two transparent bodies (2, 3) and a centre plate (36) such that a book can be placed on the top surfaces (11, 12) of the aid. The distribution of light over each of the top surfaces (11, 12) is improved and the shadow of the centre plate (36) is eliminated, as is the excess brightness along the upper edges, corresponding to points R and R'. In the most basic embodiment, the centre plate (36) is angled, translucent and diffusive, and has a predetermined colour and thickness. The side surfaces of the two bodies have grooves (37, 25) extending therethrough and one of the bottom surfaces (5) is at a slight angle ( beta ) relative to the horizontal line. |
