Locking arrangement for preventing unintentional gear selection in a vehicle gearbox, where this selection takes place by displacing an operating shaft 16 in the gearbox, which shaft displacement requires a locking force which is exerted by a locking mechanism 2, 4 acting on the shaft 16 and counteracts displacement to be overcome. This locking mechanism comprises an at least essentially conical sleeve 4 which is connected to a stationary gearbox part 2, arranged around the operating shaft 16 and has longitudinal slots 6 which divide a conical shell portion 10 and an edge flange portion 12 adjacent thereto into resilient tongues 8 which can be bent out and are in contact with the outside of the operating shaft 16. That section of the operating shaft interacting with the sleeve comprises a first portion 18 of greater diameter and a second portion 20 of smaller diameter, which portions merge with one another via a conically tapering transition portion 22, the displacement of which through the narrowest section X-X of the sleeve 4 brings about bending out of the tongues 8 which then exert a displacement-counteracting locking force on the transition portion 22 of the shaft. When this portion has passed through the narrowest section X-X of the sleeve, the displacement-counteracting locking force is considerably reduced. <IMAGE> |
