Branch fitting with valve for tapping into pipe under fluid pressure - has single housing with integral valve fittings that remain same for all pipe sizes and materials

The fitting has the same housing and valve fittings for all pipe sizes and pipe materials. Included in the housing (1) are a sealing ring (2) between the pipe (10) and housing, a valve collar (6) and threaded spindle (7) on which are fixed the drill (8) and valve collar (6). The sealing ring (2) with seal insert (3) has different profiles to suit different sizes of pipe. The spindle (7) is screwed through a sleeve (1) which is rotatable in the housing but can be locked by a circular clip (15). By rotation of the spindle and independent feeding of the drill by rotation of the sleeve, the pipe can be drilled at feeds suitable for the pipe material. In the working position, the valve collar (6) locks onto the fixing ring (11) just behind the drill. USE/ADVANTAGE - Only small stocks of fittings need be held. Fitting is easily installed in pipe under fluid pressure and maintained.
