A body portion 15 of a connector head includes an internal bore 15b which may receive any one of a number of pistons 10, 17, 21 suited for opening different forms of cartridge (puncturable or valve). A suitable support 6, 12, 25 for each respective cartridge type may be attached using screw thread 15c. The pistons are biassed towards the valve or point of puncture by a spring 26 and retained within the body by a pin (45, Figure 4). O-rings 40, 43, 44 provide a seal around the pistons. The body portion also includes a needle valve 41 to control the flow of gas. <IMAGE> |
