The stamp has a housing-like frame (10). It can be gripped on a handle (12) and set down with its standing surface on a surface to be printed, e.g. an envelope to be printed with an address. In the housing (10) of the stamp, a print head (18) is guided on a cross slide (16) so as to be movable parallel to the standing surface in two perpendicular directions (A, B). The print head (18) is a needle or ink jet print head which is controlled in a similar manner to the case of a printer connected to a computer, the control of the line feed being carried out as a movement of the cross slide (16) bearing the print head (18). <IMAGE> |
