The automatic monitor system is disclosed in which when a CPU of a fixed device scans a ring signal detector and detects a ring signal for a predetermined period, an answering portion is driven, at the same time, when a portable device is separated from the fixed device, a monitor start code is transmitted to the portable device, and the CPU of the portable device stops the driving of a transmitting portion and drives only a receiving portion unless a communication button is ON when the monitor start code is input, thereby allowing a user to monitor at any place.
