PURPOSE:To mainly obtain mono- and di-isopropylated reaction products by isopropylating naphthalene with propylene, then transalkylating the resulting substances at a higher temperature, carrying out these reactions by using a solid acid catalyst and distilling the prepared substances. CONSTITUTION: Raw material A in a pipe 1, circulating naphthalene in a pipe 3 and propylene from a pipe 3 are fed to an isopropylating reactor 21 (in the presence of solid acid catalyst such as silica alumina), resulting substances are sent to a transalkylating reactor 22 and the degree of alkylation is regulated 1.3-2.5 to especially raise the ratio of 2,6-diisopropylnaphthalene. The reaction products are fed to a first distillation column 23, a column top fraction mainly comprising mono-derivatives is sent to a third distillation column 25, a column bottom fraction mainly comprising di-derivatives is fed to a second distillation column 24, a naphthalene fraction is circulated to an isopropylating process and tri-derivatives to a transalkylating process. 2,6-Isomer fractions are recovered from a pipe 16. |
