A gas burner 12 particularly intended to produce diffusion flames of good emissivity and luminosity in an industrial furnace, for example a reverberation furnace such as may be used in glass making. The burner has a plate 26 forming a burner nozzle having a central through bore 28 surrounded by a circular array of six smaller diameter bores 32 and 34. Bore 34 is parallel with the axis B of the bore 28. Whereas the other five bores 32 are each respectively disposed at an acute angle D of substantially 22.5 DEG to the axis B. Fuel gas is supplied to the central bore 28 through a central tube 24 and to the bores 32,34 through an annular passage 36 between the tube 24 and a surrounding tube 25. <IMAGE> |
