PURPOSE:To attain an edition without notifying page boundary by mapping a graphic subjected to split management into pages by characteristics such as kind or scale of a drawing in a form of editing page continuously in a large sized drawing data base. CONSTITUTION:A drawing inputted by a drawing input device 207 or the like under the control of a CPU 200 is divided into a page by characteristics such as its kind or scale and stored in a file device 201. Then all pages relating to regions being object of edition are listed and a page (a) is divided into four pages PO1, 2, 3, 4. The entire pages are mapped continuously to a temporary memory 202 possible for processing as an edition page (b). As a result, a discontinuous page is processed into a continuous page to obtain an edition page (c). The edition is applied to the graphic in the edition page (c) subjected to the continuous processing and the edition is attained without taking notice of the boundary of pages. |
