A novel inclusion compound comprising a tetrakisphenol represented by general formula (I) as the host and various organic compounds such as alcohol, ether, ester, ketone, nitrogenous heterocyclic compound, essential oil or perfume as the guest, which can be prepared readily at a high efficiency by a reaction in the absence of any solvent or optionally in a diluent. In formula (I), X represents (CH2)n where n represents an integer of 0 to 3; and R<1> and R<2> represent each hydrogen, lower alkyl, halogen or lower alkoxy. This compound is useful in various technical fields including selective separation, chemical stabilization, prevention of evaporation, and pulverization. <CHEM> |
