PURPOSE:To provide the method for simply producing the active carbon having a high surface area. CONSTITUTION:The method for producing the active carbon from a carbon raw material and an activation auxiliary is characterized by feeding the carbon raw material and the activation auxiliary in a weight ratio of 1:2 to 1:8, continuously treating the mixture in an inert gas atmosphere or under vacuum at 450-550 deg.C, and subsequently activating the treated product with an outer heating type rotary kiln under an inert gas atmosphere at 600-1000 deg.C. The invention permits to continuously produce the active carbon having a high specific area, to improve the mass productivity and to reduce its production cost. |
