PURPOSE:To obtain a shock absorbing material from substances of the natural world by forming grains whose volume is expanded with foam into an intended shape using starch-based adhesives which are natural macromolecule material. CONSTITUTION:Volume of grains 1 existing in the natural world is expanded by high temperature and high pressure heat treatment, wherein air is generated. Such grains 1 themselves have adhesive characteristics. And such grains 1 that have no adhesive characteristics are bound and molded by means of adhesives 2. According to shapes of parts to be packaged or shapes of products, the grains are formed into a desired shape in such a manner that the whole or a part thereof can be supported, whereby a shock absorbing material 3 in place of polystyrene foam can be provided. Therefore, intense heat is not generated when it burns and hence burning treatment can be performed in an incinerator of general purpose having low heat generation, and harmful gas is not generated by burning, so that the environment is not contaminated. |
