PURPOSE:To obtain the title compsn. which forms a coating film excellent esp. in durability and good in gloss, leveling properties, etc., by compounding a water-base dispersion of a specific acrylic copolymer with a wax emulsion. CONSTITUTION:The compsn. comprises 70-98wt.% (solid base) water-base acrylic copolymer emulsion and 30-2wt.% (solid base) wax emulsion. The copolymer is formed by copolymerizing 10-90wt.% 1-10C alkyl (meth)acrylate, 5-30wt.% ethylenically unsatd. aliph. carboxylic acid, 5-60wt.% phenylated unsatd. carboxylic ester of the formula wherein R<1> is H or 1--3C alkyl; R<2> is H, 1-8C alkyl, 1-8C hydroxyalkyl, etc.; X is -R<4>-wherein R<4> is 1-10C alkylene, etc.; and n is 0 or 1 and/or arom. unsatd. monomer which gives a homopolymer having a Tg of 105 deg.C or higher, and 0-80wt.% unsatd. monomer copolymerizable with the foregoing monomers. |
