<p>PURPOSE:To improve the flexural resistance and recoat adhesion of the coating film formed on vehicle by a method wherein each of clear and base coating materials is provided with a specific resin component and the coating film is formed by two coats, one bake method. CONSTITUTION:The resin component of clear coating material comprises 40-90wt.% copolymer of vinyl monomeric mixtures, each containing at least 20wt.% cycloalkyl ester of acrylic acid and/or methacrylic acid, 5-50wt.% alkyl etherified melamine resin and 5-50wt.% blocked polyisocyanate compound. The resin component of base coating material comprises 40-80wt.% copolymer of vinyl monomers represented by the formula (wherein X<1>, N and X<5> are hydrogen atom and methyl group, i is an integer of 0-2, j is an integer of 0-1, k and m are an integer of 0-3 and n is an integer of 1-10), 10-50wt.% alkyl etherified melamine resin,0-40wt.% blocked polyisocyanate compound, 0-20wt.% cellulosic resin and 0-30wt.% organic cross-linked particles having a size of 0.01-5mum in diameter.</p> |
