A porous nickel plaque is impregnated with an aqueous solution of a nickel or cadmium salt, dried at between 60 ‹ and 80 ‹ C. and heated in air or steam at a temperature between 180‹ and 400‹ C. to form the hydroxide. The drying time is preferably between 10 and 90 minutes. The plate is formed electrolytically in potassium hydroxide. |
