PURPOSE:To detect pure steering torque so as to eliminate control delay at the steering time. CONSTITUTION:A pure steering torque computing part 61 for correcting the output of a torque sensor 11 to compute pure steering torque is provided to compute pure steering torque on the basis of acceleration information obtained from the rotating speed of a steering assist motor, for instance, and the information of first differential value and second differential value of the output T of the torque sensor 11. Pure steering torque, that is, the steering torque applied by a driver, is thereby detected, and the inertia of a steering wheel and the viscous influence of the torque sensor 11 are eliminated so as to heighten responsiveness at the steering time. |
