PURPOSE:To provide an optical recording medium in which recording characteristics after recording are not deteriorated even at a high temperature and high humidity by forming a recording film containing organic dyes and polyvinyl butyral on a substrate. CONSTITUTION:An optical recording medium 1 is manufactured by providing a recording film 12 on a substrate 11 having light transmission properties, a light reflecting layer 13 thereon and further a protective layer 14 thereon. The film 12 contains organic due such as phthalocyanine dye. Further, the film 12 contains polyvinyl butyral. The butyral is contained by 0.1-20 pts.wt. to 100 pts.wt. of the organic dye. The film 12 containing the butyral and the dye is coated, for example, by a spin coating method, and has a desirable thickness of 10-1000nm. Thus, recording characteristics having excellent weather resistance are obtained. |
