PURPOSE:To hold the entire periphery of an item to be packaged in a wellbalanced state by a method wherein an opening on the supporting side of an item to be packaged is cut off by blanking along the form of said item and a tongue-shaped protrusion is provided in an area of the opening so that said protrusion serves as a part of a receiver for the item. CONSTITUTION:In a corrugated fiberboard 5 constituting a shock absorbing material 2, creases 6, 7, 8 are provided on one side of the fiberboard by blanking by means of a press mold so as to conform to the external shape of upper half of an item to be packaged 1 and cut lines 10, 11 are formed spaced apart from each other in parallel to the creased 6, 8 in a direction inwardly from the creases 6, 8 toward the center of said item 1. And several cut lines 9 are provided from the creases 6, 8 toward the cut lines 10, 11. As a result, several tongue-shaped protrusions 12 and one planar element 13 are formed. Further creases 14, 15, 16 are provided on the element 13. Consequently, a proper repulsion is created between the protrusions 12 and the item 1 so that the item 1 is held in a well-balanced state. |
