PURPOSE:To provide a thermal recording material having excellent light resistance and high coloring density by forming a thermal coloring layer containing copolymer of special coloring compound and styrene/acrylonitrile/(met)acrylate ester or a composite of it and colloidal silica and compound having color developing properties. CONSTITUTION:A thermal color developing layer contains copolymer of coloring compound represented by a formula I and styrene/acrylonitrile/(met)acrylate ester or a composite of the copolymer and colloidal silica and color developing compound such as alpha-naphthol. Here, the weight ratio of the coloring compound expressed by the formula I to the developing compound is preferably 2:1 to 1:20. The copolymer or the composite is used at a ratio of 1-50wt.% in the thermal coloring layer, Thus, a thermal recording material having excellent light resistance and high coloring density is obtained. |
