PURPOSE:To provide a printing head inspection device capable of inspecting a printing head without conducting a troublesome operation and damaging the printing head or a platen. CONSTITUTION:A printing width is inputted from a key operation part 3. After that, a test pattern generation means 5 reads a program from a program storage means 9 and writes a basic test pattern conforming with an effective printing width in a pattern storage means 7. On the other hand, the test pattern generation means 5 corrects the basic test pattern by rewriting information for omitting the printing of the right and left end parts of the basic test pattern in accordance with the inputted printing width. Thus, the corrected printing test pattern is stored in the pattern storage means 7. Succeedingly, with an input of a pattern signal (p) to a head control part 8, the head control part 8 outputs information for one line in a label travel direction to a shift register la of a printing head 1, and the printing test pattern is printed on a label. |
