PURPOSE:To obtain the subject particles capable of giving foams with excellent resistances to heat and chemicals and electrical properties by incorporating a foaming agent in specific cyclic olefin resin particles. CONSTITUTION:The objective particles can be obtained by incorporating (1) an inorganic or organic foaming agent in (2) particles (pref. 300-3000mum in mean diameter) of at least one kind of cyclic olefin resin selected from (A) copolymers of >=2C alpha-olefin (pref. ethylene) and cyclic olefin of formula I (n is 0 or 1; m is <=0; r is 0 or 1; R<1>-R<18>, R<9> and R<6> are each H, halogen, etc., R<15>-R<18> may be mutually bound to form monocycle or polycycle) or formula II (p and q are each >=0; m and n are each 0-2; R<1>-R<19> are each H, halogen, etc., carbon atoms to which R<9> and R<13> and R<10> and R<11> are bound may be either directly or, via 1-3C alkylene, bound to each other), (B) ring-opened polymers of olefin of formula I or II, (C) two or more ring-opened copolymers of two or more kinds of olefin of formula I or II, and (D) hydrogenated products from the component B or C. |
