PURPOSE:To provide a coat type ink-jet recording sheet which has a high image density, is superior in color properties and clarity, has little feathering or strike through or cockling and possesses properties having favorable reproducibility of an image and manufacture thereof. CONSTITUTION:This is a respective ink-jet recording sheet and manufacture thereof wherein at least one layer of an ink receiving layer is provided on a substrate consisting mainly of wood pulp and a pigment, it possesses a back coat laylayer or does not possess the same and values of gas permeability/ density in the recording sheet is within a specific range.
