PURPOSE:To provide a power assist device for a parking brake for a vehicle which improves operatability of a parking brake lever and surely execute parking brake operation of a parking brake mechanism with a light operating feeling. CONSTITUTION:In this power assist device for a parking brake for a vehicle, a parking brake operation assisting device 12 is constituted by slidably providing a reel made of a plurality of split reel pieces on a rotor 20 driven by a motor 22 and an operating cable 11 for operating a parking brake mechanism is wound around this reel. And this parking brake operation assisting device 12 makes the rotor 29 and the reel frictionally engaged by adding an operating force to the operating cable 11 so that a motor driving force is added to the operating cable 11 as a power assist amount. |
