<p>PURPOSE:To provide a paper feeder able to manage with one input port of a control device for receiving sheet size detection signals. CONSTITUTION:A sheet supply box for placing sheets in a paper feeder is provided with sheet side edge adjusting mechanism, a variable resistor 11 for changing resistance value interlockingly with the sheet side edge adjusting mechanism and outputting the corresponding sheet width detection voltage, and a longitudinal size detecting switch 13 for detecting the rear ends of the placed sheets. A resistance 18 with resistance value R2 larger than the total resistance value of the variable resistor 11 is connected in series to the variable resistor 11. The longitudinal size detecting switch 13 is connected in parallel to the resistance 18, and the sheet width detection voltage outputted from the variable resistor 11 is inputted, as a signal serving also for longitudinal size information, into a control device 14.</p> |
