PURPOSE:To easily obtain the subject foam having high expansion ratio in a short time without using a volatile foaming agent such as fluorocarbon by reacting an organic polyisocyanate with a polyol and water in the presence of three specific kinds of catalysts. CONSTITUTION:The objective foam is produced by reacting an organic polyisocyanate with a polyol and water as a foaming agent in the presence of (A) a trimerizing catalyst for isocyanate (preferably the compound of formula I, etc.), (B) a carbodiimidizing catalyst consisting of a phospholene oxide of formula II or formula III (R1 is alkyl, phenyl, etc.; R2 to R7 are H, Cl, etc.) (preferably 3-methyl-1-phenyl-2-phospholene oxide, etc.) and (C) a urethane-urea forming catalyst consisting of a tertiary amine (preferably the compound of formula IV, etc.) satisfying the formula K2/K1>=1 wherein K1 is catalytic constant of the reaction of NCO with alcoholic OH at 30 deg.C and K2 is catalytic constant of the reaction of NCO with water. |
