The present invention are methods of treating a HIV positive human which comprises (1) administering to the HIV positive individual a sensitizingly effective amount of a SENSITIZING HIV-1 INHIBITOR until increased sensitivity to a NON-NUCLEOSIDE HIV TREATMENT DRUG develops, (2) administering to the HIV positive individual an effective amount of a NON-NUCLEOSIDE HIV TREATMENT DRUG.
