The charging shell (12) for a cordless telephone is designed in such a way that it can be used as either a desktop or a wall-mounted model. To create this option, the charging shell (12) has a recess (9) beneath the hang-up surface (8) for the cordless telephone; an angular insert (1) can be plugged into this recess (99) in two operating positions and is locked in place in this recess (9).
