PURPOSE:To reduce erosion rate by incorporating Al2O3, B2O3, BaO, CaO, SiO2 and alkali metal oxide in a specified weight ratio to make the electrical resistance larger than a prescribed value. CONSTITUTION:Each of starting material is formulated and mixed in a prescribed weight ratio and the mixture is melted with an electric furnace, etc., and molten material is poured into a mold and cooled slowly, and high alumina casting refractory material consisting 89-99wt.%. Al2O3, 0.1-3% B2O3, 0.1-2% BaO, 0.1-1% CaO, 0.3-5% SiO2 and <=0.2% alkali metal oxide such as Na2O in terms of oxide is obtained. The refractory material in which the glass phase containing Al2O3, B2O3, BaO, CeO2, CaO and SiO2 surrounds the intercrystalline boundary of corundum crystal particles, has a dense structure, provides corrosion resistance against a molten glass, and has >=5000OMEGA electrical resistance at 1500 deg.C. |
