PURPOSE:To provide a thermal transfer image receiving sheet good in releasability, strength and dye permeability even at the time of the formation of a full-color image and having a release layer made writable by various writing utensils provided to the surface thereof. CONSTITUTION:In a thermal transfer image receiving sheet wherein a dye receiving layer is formed on at least one surface of a base material sheet, a release layer composed of a resin containing a urethane bond and/or a urea bond having a long chain alkyl group as a side chain and/or a terminal group is formed on the surface of the receiving layer or the receiving layer contains a release agent composed of the above mentioned resin.
