PURPOSE:To provide an ink jet printer in which the rising time of printing has been shortened, the cost power supply has been reduced, the structure of automatic ink supplying device has been simplified and the handling utility has been improved and an inexpensive hot melt type ink can be employed therefor. CONSTITUTION:A carriage 1 is supported slidably in the traverse direction by two shafts 6a, 6b. A plurality of ink tanks 2 (2a, 2b, 2c, 2d) corresponding to ink colors are mounted on the carriage 1. 3, 5 and 7 denote an ink supply inlet of the ink tank 2, a heater for heating ink and a sensor for measuring the residual ink quantity respectively. A head 4 is disposed in front of the ink tank 2. A heater plate 10 which is made of a metal material with a high heat-conductivity and is being V-shaped, is attached with an inclination angel of theta. An ink stick 12 is provided in an ink cassette 11. |
