PRODUCTION OF SPHERICAL FIBER LUMP MOLECULAR SIEVE CARBON

摘要

PURPOSE:To provide a method for easily producing high-performance molecular sieve carbon at a low cost with good reproducibility at high efficiency without using expensive material and introducing an activating process. CONSTITUTION:Pitch is spun into fiber. Short fiber thereof is infusibililized in the oxidative atmosphere and thereafter sphering treatment is performed. Otherwise infusibililizing treatment is performed after sphering treatment. Infusibililizing treatment is again performed in accordance with necessity and thereafter carbonizing treatment is performed at 760-900 deg.C. Pyrolytic carbon is vapor-deposited by furthermore treating the spherical fiber lump molecular sieve carbon obtained in such a way at 600-850 deg.C in the inert gas atmosphere containing aromatic hydrocarbon and/or alicyclic hydrocarbon.
