PURPOSE:To prevent a printing impossible state of all lines due to the slight length difference of media. CONSTITUTION:A recording apparatus is equipped with a memory means 16 storing data consisting of the total number of printing lines and the tolerance range of line interval alteration informed from a host device 17, a detection means 7 detecting the upper and lower ends of a recording medium 2, a medium length calculation means 20 calculating the length of the recording medium 2 on the basis of the number of feed steps from the detected upper end to lower end of the medium 2 and a line interval determining means 21 determining the above mentioned line interval so as to apply printing one recording medium according to the total number of printing lines on the basis of the data and the medium length. |
