PURPOSE:To provide a method and device for effectively polishing a round groove surface and a round screw groove surface, and a magnetic polishing member by providing the polishing pressure on the bottom surface of a groove by surely advancing the magnetic polishing member into the groove of a polished article, in the magnetic polishing of the inner surface of the groove of the polished article having the round groove. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic polishing member 10 is constituted at the magnetic abrasive grains 1 and the ferromagnetic body spheres 2 having the less radius than the min. radius of an R shaped groove, and fed into the gap between a magnetic pole and a polished article 6. The ferromagnetic body sphere 2 contacts the bottom part of the groove, and the whole of the polishing member 10 forms a collection body by the adhesion of the magnetic abrasive grains 1 on the periphery, and polishing work is carried out by continuously exerting the polishing pressure on the bottom surface of the groove. In the polishing of the R shaped screw groove surface, the magnetic pole is shifted along the lead direction of the screw, and the polishing is performed by applying a polishing pressure on the bottom part of the screw groove, holding the collection body. |
