PURPOSE:To allow a handrail to serve also as a side wall or a grip by furnishing locking tools, which detain rotating pillars for mounting handrails of movable type and stationary type individually, on the side face of a bed in its middle part in its longitudinal direction. CONSTITUTION:The inner end edge face of a handrail mounting frame piece 4 is attached by pressure to the side face of a side frame 2 using a bolt. In the frame piece 4, holes are provided at a certain spacing which admit insertion of pillars for mounting of the handrail. This increases the degree of utilization as a movable handrail 15 and stationary handrail 17 being fastened individually by a lever 13a and bolt, wherein the movable handrail 15 consists of a looped part 15a serving as a handrail, mounting pillar 15b, and leg part 15c contacted with and held by the floor surface. When the movable handrail 15 and stationary handrail 17 are set in place, the movable one 15 serves as an aid handrail for a handicapped to get out of a bed onto the floor surface or to go back to the bed. The stationary handrail 17 serves as a side wall for prevention of falling off of the handicapped when he is lying on the bed or as a gripping member for him to support his body when he turns over in the bed. |
