PURPOSE:To seal a discharge port surface or a recording head with a cap without deviating a cap from a carriage. CONSTITUTION:A recording head 1 is pressed by using a protrusion 17c provided at a cap 17 to be used to suck ink from a discharge port surface of the head 1, a deviation of the cap 17 from the head 1 is eliminated, and the discharge port surface of the head 1 is sealed. |
