The release bearing (19) is enclosed by a piston which forms with the housing (3) fixed on the gearbox housing a pressure chamber (15). The housing (13) has parallel to the longitudinal axis (1) of the piston (5) at least one bore (35) contg. a pin (37) supported on a stop (39). The pin is self locking but axially displaceable. The stop (39) is mounted on a component connected to the release bearing. Two bores and two pins can be arranged diametrically opposite each other on the housing.The locking device for the release components has a clamping face on one of the components and an associated clamping element. A stop element (39) on the other of the components entrains the clamping element during relative movement as a result of hydraulic strain on the pressure chamber (15).
