PURPOSE:To reduce exhaust gas emission immediately after an engine provided for charging a battery is started. CONSTITUTION:A drive motor is fundamentally driven by a battery, but an engine for driving a generator at the time of insufficient power is provided. A catalytic unit is provided in an exhaust gas system of the engine, and an air control valve is interposed in an air intake system. When the engine is started, an intake air amount is suppressed to a small flow rate during a predetermined period T1. Then, the intake air amount is gradually increased to reach a rated output. |
