PURPOSE:To provide a color filter and its formation by which the faulty orientation of an oriented film and counter short circuit are prevented from occurring. CONSTITUTION:This formation of the color filter is provided with a stage for forming a picture element on a substrate 1 made of glass, etc., a stage for forming a transparent conductive film 4, a stage for forming the oriented film 5, and a stage for forming a light shielding part 2 on the oriented film. Since the light shielding part 2 and a picture element part 3 are not superposed as in the conventional manner, a projection part caused by such superposition is prevented from being formed and the defective orientation of the oriented film 5 and the counter short circuit caused by the chip of the projection part are prevented from occurring, thereby realizing display having high quality and large area. |
