PURPOSE:To improve the visibility by improving the visual angle dependency. CONSTITUTION:The twisted nematic liquid crystal display device is constituted by arranging an incidence-side polarizing plate 5 on the light incidence side of a twisted nematic liquid crystal display element whose light-incidence side orientation axis 2a and transmission side orientation axis 3a cross each other at right angles and arranging a transmission side polarizing plate 7 on the transmission side so that the axis 7a of polarization crosses the axis 5a of polarization of the incidence side polarizing plate at right angles and the axis 5a of polarization is parallel or orthogonal to the orientation axis 2a; and at least one of the axes 5a and 7a of polarization is rotated clockwise or counterclockwise and set within a 0-3 deg. angle range or one axis is set clockwise and the other is set counterclockwise. |
