PURPOSE:To provide a satellite broadcast reception system with excellent use of convenience in which the sound mode is selected by a BS tuner side only regardless of scramble broadcast or non-scramble broadcast. CONSTITUTION:A scramble decoder is provided with a bit stream conversion processing circuit 17 converting and outputting a sound signal after descrambling into a bit stream signal. A BS tuner, is provided with a bit stream selection circuit 18 selecting a bit stream signal generated in the inside of the BS tuner or a bit stream signal from a scramble decoder. Since all sound data are included in the bit stream signal, the bit stream signal outputted from the scramble decoder is available of sound mode selection after the stage when the signal is inputted to the BS tuner side, and the sound mode selection in the scramble decoder is not required.
