<p>PURPOSE:To prevent light from impinging on a nonlinear active element, to provide the nonlinear active element without decreasing an aperture rate, to prevent nonlinear active element misalignment and a decrease in the yield due to dust, etc., and to simplify the manufacturing process. CONSTITUTION:A light-incidence side upper electrode substrate 1 where a transparent electrode layer 2 is formed and a lower electrode substrate 9 where a lower electrode layer 3 is formed across a liquid crystal layer 10 formed by filling a macromolecule layer 11 with a liquid crystal composition, and the nonlinear active element is arranged below the lower electrode layer 3 to constitute the reflection type liquid crystal display device, which features the arrangement of a light reflecting layer (reflecting film and pixel electrode 3), a light scattering layer, or a light absorbing layer above the nonlinear active element.</p> |
