PURPOSE:To improve a picture processing speed by reducing the distortion of pictures accompanied with resolution conversion, suppressing the notches of a contour line (especially the notches of a hatched line part) at the time of a magnifying processing, also facilitating the ornaments of characters and lines and further, independently and parallelly performing processing of contour coordinate data and encoded picture data. CONSTITUTION:A picture area separating circuit 200 separates binary raster picture data inputted by an image scanner 100 between a binary area and a halftone area and a smoothing/coordinate conversion circuit 900 converts the separated binary raster picture data of the binary area to the data string of a contour coordinate. A raster picture variable power circuit 1600 varies the power of the converted data string and the binary raster picture data of the halftone area separated by the picture area separating circuit 200 respectively by similar magnification. A CPU 1200 adds first identification information to the variable power result of the binary area and adds second identification information to the variable power result of the halftone area and a CCU (communication control unit) 1300 transmits transmission data to which the first and second identification information is added. |
