<p>PURPOSE:To provide a current transformer and a testing method thereof, wherein a test of checking the disconnection of a cable of a circuit breaker or the like can be easily carried out without making a current flow through the cable when a current transformer is used to measure a current of the cable of the circuit breaker. CONSTITUTION:A current transformer is equipped with a ring-shaped core 1 of magnetic material and windings 2a and 2b provided with output terminals 3 and 4 at their ends and wound on the ring-shaped core 1, wherein an intermediate terminal 6 is provided to a lead-out wire 5 led out from an intermediate point of the windings 2a and 2b. An alternate current power supply 11, a switch 12, a first resistor 13 are connected in series between the intermediate terminal 6 and the output terminal 3, and a second resistor is connected between the output terminals 3 and 4, whereby a test is carried out by measuring voltages generated between the ends of the resistors closing or opening the switch 12.</p> |
