The upper assembly (6) of the gyratory crusher (1) is attached to its lower structure (2) by means of a series of hydraulic jacks (7) placed round its periphery to form a safety attachment which yields under load. Each rod of the jack (16) ends in a hook (30) which cooperates with a lug (33) forming part of the upper assembly. A locking unit (34,36) is provided on each hook (30) so that the uncoupling and coupling of the hook (30) from the lug (33) by the action of the jack is only operable when the locking unit (34,36) is in the unlocked position. The jack can yield to any overloading of the system due to crusher becoming blocked by the incorporation of a accumulator (8) in the pressure supply circuit (20). Use/advantage - For the fixing of the upper assembly of a gyratory crusher, used in quarries, to its structure that can be quickly attached and released and in which the fixing jacks can yield when the crusher becomes blocked.
