PURPOSE:To quickly output sight line position information, to enhance the responsiveness of servo-AF, and also, to enhance a split scan property in a camera having a servo-AF function for executing the focusing of moving body by the sight line detecting device. CONSTITUTION:In the case a sight line detection is started, and a read-out rang in the vertical and the horizontal directions at the time of first detection is set as XX1=0, XX2=99, YY1=0, and YY2=149, and when the detection goes into a detection routine (#500) of the pupil center of a second time and thereafter, and advances to setting of the read-out range (#513), it migrates to a step (#800), and when the detection of the pupil center is successful (#801), the read-out range in the vertical and the horizontal directions is set as XX1=A-30, XX2=A+30, YY1=B-30, and YY2=B+30 (#802), and the read- out range is limited. Therefore, accumulation of a photodetecting means decreases, and repsonsiveness of the AF detection of a second time and thereafter is enhanced. |
