MOTION DETECTION CIRCUIT

PURPOSE:To provide a motion detection circuit detecting a motion of an object in a high definition television signal sent by using the TCI system with high accuracy. CONSTITUTION:A decoded color difference signal is obtained at an output of a TCI decoder 110 and fed to a hue detection circuit 120. The hue detection circuit 120 detects that an object of an input signal is a human complexion based on a applied color difference signal and the result of detection is fed to a nonlinear processing circuit 160. The motion detection characteristic in the nonlinear processing circuit 160 is controlled according to the result of complexion detection, the motion on the surface of a human skin is detected and deterioration in picture quality due to mis-detection of motion is prevented.
