<p>PURPOSE:To suppress the number of files to be lost due to the generation of a fault such as power interruption to minimum without adding a new device such as a no-break power unit. CONSTITUTION:This file storage device having a management information cache 3 and a file cache 6, executing reading or writing of data corresponding to the contents of a request from/in respective caches 3, 6 at the time of receiving the request from an input means through a file accessing means 1 to change the data in the caches 3, 6 for practically executing the contents of a disk 9 based upon the changed cache data through a disk accessing means 8 is provided with a management information caching means 2 for counting up the practical updating frequency of respective caches 3, 6, and when the practical updating frequency of either one of the caches 3, 6 reaches specified frequency, practically updating the contents of the disk 9 by all changed cache data to obtain the consistency of the contents of the disk 9 and a file information caching means 5.</p> |
